ABOUT US
We are a not-for-profit group, run entirely by volunteers
Our group was formed by local landowners in 1999 with the name Mount Roland Rivercare Catchment Inc. As indicated by the name, the group’s focus in its early years was the care of waterways. Projects concentrated on the Dasher, Minnow and Don Rivers, and included weed removal, fencing, native spp. planting, and bank stabilisation.
Documents relating to the group’s historical activities can be viewed in History.
In recent years the group’s interests have broadened to include many aspects of land management. A priority concern has been weed control, and preventing the encroachment of invasive weeds into the Mount Roland Regional Reserve. Other activities have focused on revegetation, biodiversity surveys, catchment management plans, and community education. As a consequence of this widening of interests, in 2022 the group adopted the new name
Mount Roland Land Care Inc.
